Today is Robbie's birthday and here he is enjoying everyone's company after we finished his birthday dinner!

Hope, here are the pics that I took 2 days ago of the clouds. They were so stunning, and it was close to sunset, so the sky looked very blue! They brought some well needed rain as well!

Kya painted this for me during our mother/ daughter class this evening. After the class we were able to talk about things that left me feeling relieved, grateful and a little breathless.

Balance...

This is my favorite word and I've recently adopted the yin-yang as my personal symbol to remind me of the importance of balance in my life. These are the first of some of the things I've recently ordered so I can have more reminders of this idea in my daily life.

Grandchildren

Today was my mother's 78th birthday! I caught this shot while she was watching 6 of her 7 grandchildren (and Isabella) play cards after a day at the pool.

well, it WILL be in 2011! We drove up to see how the new pool was coming along in our small town and found this sign. Big deal for a town of 3700 people!

Hmmmm

this is one of those days I can't decide which pic to post. I have goggles, fireworks (well, a sparkler held by Jenai, who is visiting) and another dog shot...but it's a beautiful dog shot...I just feel like I post too many of those? Maybe I'll just post my 2 favorites. *shrugs*



This is Heidi and she is the sweetest dog ever...I think the picture conveys her personality perfectly.

Zookeeper...

We spent the day at the zoo today and the sea lion show was a big hit with everyone- that and petting the sting rays. :-) It was hot, exhausting and lots of fun!

Cousins

My sister and niece came in town this afternoon and I made the girls go outside and let me take a quick picture in between dinner, shooting off fireworks, and playing rock band. Fun times!

Happy Independence Day!

We did fireworks in the back yard tonight. We had lots of fun and Jace especially loved that he got to help Robbie light the fireworks this year. Kya helped a bit too but lost interest. The fireworks were of the wow variety not the WOW variety so I couldn't get WOW pictures either. These were a few of my favorites and I feel pretty good about knowing HOW to take the pictures when I see the WOOOOOWWWWW fireworks at Disney in a few months.

I set my ISO to 100, the shutter to bulb, aperture to 11, and my focal length to infinity. I tried using the tripod but backyard fireworks aren't predictable so eventually I just decided to hold it.

Sunrise

Happy 4th everyone, there won't be any fireworks shots for me this year, my tripod broke. I'm not too upset about it, I had fun taking some last year. This morning I caught a gorgeous sunrise, I didn't edit the color of this picture AT ALL...this is actually how it looked! Pink sun for the 4th of July! I had to pull over as soon as I saw it b/c I knew it would be gone in moments, so I didn't have a choice about the fence or the houses on the sides, but I'm glad I stopped b/c 2 minutes later when I got to my clients house, the pink was gone!
