We had our Pirates of the Caribbean day today and it was a big hit with everyone! The kids loved the treasure hunt, Karen and I loved the tablescape full of photo ops we created. I couldn't decide between a pic of the kids happy with their booty or one of the table so you get two today! :-)

A Pirate's Life for Me...

Nice! BTW, it doesn't look like it's too dark, your pic looks great. Was that at 3.5??
ReplyDeleteMy largest aperture is f/4- this is f/5. They weren't dark at all after I realized I hadn't adjusted my ISO. I've been so focused on metering the shutter speed and aperture lately that I sometimes forget all about adjusting my ISO and white balance- until I try to take a picture and it looks terrible, that always jogs the memory. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat ISO did you put it on??
ReplyDelete1600, which meant no cropping or they got too noisy!
ReplyDeleteI had mine on 800 but I don't think that is why I didn't like my pics. I think that in a dark atmosphere, I CANNOT have my settings on vivid. I actually had to edit my pics to take OUT color and saturation and this is what happened with Dumbo as well. I've already gone in and put it on normal so I don't forget again.
ReplyDeleteI think when you have a good lens it does the work for you so you don't need the camera to do it also.
ReplyDeleteI just re-read that and it sounded wrong- not that the lens does YOUR work but it does such a good job of capturing the color that the camera doesn't need to boost it also.
